Helloo people.... Do you skip your breakfast or you have more than enough sugar? If you are doing any of this then you are letting this habit to affect your brain. Well... I don't skip my breakfast....may be on some sundays or some low days but usually I love having my breakfast with a cup of chai!
A good number of studies have been taken place to know whether skipping breakfast affects the brain or not. If yes then which part of brain and how does it impact on daily life. The changes as per breakfast habits were observed in cognitive part of the brain where memories are stored.
These memories may be short term memories such as an important task to be completed within days or long term memories such as something you remember for years. The trials were conducted by dividing people into two groups and asked one group to consume breakfast regularly and other to skip.
The results or outcomes had a huge difference with clarity enough to not to doubt on. The people who consume breakfast regularly were made to recite some words and lines and were said to memorize them. Hence the people who didn't skip breakfast were able to memorize more and recall easily as compared to the people who skipped their breakfast.
This means that the cognitive part of the brain was affected by the breakfast regularity and timing. Another set of studies and research was conducted upon the amount of glucose intake in the breakfast. And it was found that the amount of glucose intake also affects the brain.
The results of studies based on glucose intake were not very significant but had an impact on individual's brain. The affect of high glycemic load (amount of raised blood sugar level) food was considered to be good on mood, thinking ability and ability to work.
Having high sugar intake in breakfast is also considered to be dangerous for brain and so the studies are still not clear enough to show a particular diet to follow.
But yes, the results of skipping breakfast are very clear.... clear enough to have a proper vision and memory as well.
So stop skipping your breakfast just because you don't wanna wake up early enough to have your breakfast or just because you don't like the food.
Maybe taking care of your brain is much more important than skipping your breakfast for no solid reason.
It's very rightly said that... Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
And yes...it is! You get energy for your whole day from your breakfast. And people skip their breakfast and complaint of not being energetic or productive. Is it not too simple? Just have breakfast and be super energetic or gain super memorizing powers. Yes, as simple as that!
So what are you waiting for? Go and tell your mom to wake you up for your breakfast or put an alarm or just wake up and have your damn yummy breakfast!
